The next stop of our 2022 travels took us to the Verde Valley and seeing more kids and grandkids, as well as Cindy’s sister Elizabeth and her husband Dave. We were able to take is sporting events that the grands were participating in as well as fun grilling times. Easter was spent at Joe’s house with good food, egg hunting by the grandkids and the evening topped off with visiting. We also got to try the adventure of floating the river, which created its own challenges, as shown below. Another wonderful time at the kids house.
Arrived about 9:30am, got setup, ate breakfast and then kicked back and did as little as possible till time to go to Chase's baseball game. Weather windy and cold. Went over to Ben and Missy's house and rode into the game with them. Cute little game as he is playing coach pitch. Came back to Ben and Missy's had dinner with them and visited a bit with them before coming back to the trailer and kicking back for the night.
Went over and visited with Dave and Elizabeth. Cindy washed the sheets and such. Aaron was good enough to bring my GPS over that I had ordered that didn't make it before we left his place. Landen Tyce Soccer Game, Wednesday. Both Tyce and Landen played today. Shame that the scheduled refs didn't show up, so they were only able to scrimmage the other team.
Maylyn softball game: After actually finding the field that they were playing on we set up our chairs and watched the game. Maylyn was playing catcher and did a good job. I believe her team ended up winning the game. Came back to Joe n Mel's and hung out at their house chatting and a few pieces of pizza.
Being Friday, we did some shopping in Cottonwood while everyone else was working and doing their thing. Went to Ben N Missy's house and helped Ben celebrate his birthday. Ben's folks Doug and Jane plus Kyla were there, so we enjoyed a fun evening helping Ben get a year older.
Did a float trip starting at Ben N Missy's place down to the library. Extremely low water made the trip a bit challenging. Cindy and I started off in Joe's rubber kayak, but after multiple hang-ups on the bottom, we traded out for 2 hard side boats and Landen n Teagan took over the rubber raft. Cindy ended up flipping hers in a rapid and scared herself pretty bad, getting bruised pretty bad with the whole flipping episode. Teagan helped get her to the end of the trip in the rubber kayak. She says that kayaking is definitely not her thing, so she will dog sit in the future.
We recuperated while Joe n family went to church. Joe smoked a couple of roasts for dinner, then shredded them and added BBQ sauce for dinner. Kids did the annual Easter Egg hunt and Maylyn found the golden egg. Julie was her usual pita self. Watched Brave Heart with Joe's family and called it a full day.
Cindy n Elizabeth went shopping in the morning. I topped off the water and reloaded the truck for travel, and also got the front storage in shape. Cooked the corned beef and when done went to Dave n Elizabeth's with it. Cindy did laundry, and we visited and had Rubens for lunch. We all got together at Joe n Mel's for dinner and last night before we head out to Gaylene's in the morning. Chatted with Dad on the phone and found out that Laurie is coming out for Father's Day, so they will be having a big meal and get together.
