2024: 19-Camping Williams AZ May June

May 28th thru June 2nd

Travel stop 18 for our 2024 season found us in Chino Valley at son Aaron's place. We enjoy our stays in Chino as we get the opportunity to see grandson Bowen, granddaughter Ava and their parents. Both grandkids are doing quite well which is good to see. All the parents were doing good as well with Alicia and Brandon preparing to buy a place down in Surprise Arizona. We followed up this visit with camping in the Williams AZ area, south of Dog Town Reservoir, which makes travel stop number 19 for 2024. Not only were Elizabeth and Bryan there, but also good friends Roberto and Susy, plus Dan and Linda were there also. Alician and Branden came up over the weekend with Ava and Aaron was able to stop by a couple of days while we were at this location.

May 28: • So we got up and getting ready to move around 6:30am this morning. Took us until around 8:30am to get hooked up and ready to move up to Williams plus say our goodbye’s for this stop. I had to empty black and grey tanks plus fill the fresh water and fill 3 jugs with water for extra capacity for next stay. After leaving kids house we went down to Olsons and filled propane, then we headed out on the short drive up to Williams. Pulled into Williams camping area where Bryan and Elizabeth are parked and got setup. We had lunch then chatted with Elizabeth and Bryan the rest of the afternoon. I went for a walk up the road from where we are camped and checked out some of the other available campsites plus took some photos of flowers and such. Cindy and Bryan drove into Williams to grab some chips and such during the period I was out walking. After dinner had a campfire and visited and Dan came down and joined us. It appears that they are doing ok and getting ready to sell their place and relocate down to Florida. Called it a night around 9:30pm and came back to trailer and off to bed.

May 29: Got up this morning and had a little bit of breakfast. Went outside and started chatting with Elizabeth and Brian once they came outside. Alicia showed up about 930 with Ava so we were able to spend a little bit time with her before she had to head out. Her and Brandon are going to go down tomorrow and do the home inspection on their house, so she is working on getting things caught up around the current house, thus the reason that we get to have little miss Ava. Aaron showed up with Bowen at around 12:30 PM and we chatted with him for a few minutes before he had to get back to work, but Bowen gets to hang out with us which makes grandma very happy. Just goofed off around campsite with the kids and visited with Elizabeth and Bryan, Roberto and Susy. Had a small campfire this evening and then off to bed.

May 30: Got up and going this morning and had a small bite of breakfast, as well as getting some food into Little Miss Ava‘s belly. Aaron came by and dropped off Bowen‘s motorcycle helmet so that he could go riding with Bryan in his machine. After he dropped off the helmet, Aaron said that he would be back around lunchtime to get Bowen so he could take him down to the lake and buy him an ice cream cone and lunch. We had fun goofing around with little Miss Ava here around the campground as well as visiting amongst ourselves. Aaron came by and got bowling at noon and took him out for lunch and then came back and picked up bowling at around 4 PM and took him home where I presume they were going to enjoy doing something for Aaron for his 33rd birthday. At the end of the day we had a campfire and called it quits around nine thirtyish.

May 31: Got up and going this morning and with Brandon and Alicia having arrived here last night chatted with them until Cindy got up and moving and got little Miss Ava going. Everybody had some breakfast, goofed around here in the campsite before the girls went into town to do some shopping. Bryan, Brandon, and myself stayed here at camp and did a little bit of drinking. After the girls got back from town we had some lunch which they bought at Safeway played a little bit of cornhole, and just generally had some fun. Bryan‘s friend Joe and his wife showed up just prior to dark and we got to chat with them after they got camp set up. We had a bit of a campfire, a whole lot of drinking a whole lot of carousing. Around 10:30 or 11 o’clock we all called it a night and went to bed.

June 1: Unfortunately, Cindy woke up with a raging headache this morning so she is attempting to recover from that currently. I got up and sat with Ava until Alicia got over and got her some breakfast fed and moving about. Came out and chatted around camp and caught up My Journal to this entry. Day is shaping up to be a pretty nice one. I called Linda and Rick to let them know that we would be getting into Panguitch on Monday. Hopefully Cindy gets her feet back under her so that she can get out and enjoy today as tomorrow is a moving day.

June 2: Got up and moving, started loading for moving day. Cindy got Ava up and Brandon and Alicia came over and got her dressed, fed and her stuff moved over to their outfit to load up. Roberto and Susy went home around 3am so we were not able to say goodbye to them when we left. All loaded up we went to William’s and had breakfast with Alicia, Brandon and Ava and said goodbyes and they were headed home. We went down to Maverick and fueled up, emptied tanks dumped garbage and got on the road toward Panguitch. We stopped and topped fuel in Page. We intended to stop west of Page for an overnight but out chosen spots didn’t appeal to us so we finished the drive into Panguitch arriving about 6:45pm and parked. We relaxed for a few watching a movie before heading off to bed.
